Wolfgang Smith for Everyone: Science, Metaphysics, and Religion (with Testimonials and Tributes) - Paperback

Few thinkers of the modern era have ranged as widely-or seen as deeply-as Wolfgang Smith.

Mathematician, physicist, philosopher, metaphysician, and devoted Christian, Smith spent a lifetime challenging the assumptions that have shaped modern thought. Drawing upon both the rigor of contemporary science and the perennial wisdom of the great philosophical and religious traditions, he developed a remarkably integrative vision and opened new paths of inquiry into the nature of reality, consciousness, cosmology, and the human person. His pioneering work on the foundations of physics, culminating in his doctrine of vertical causality, offered a profound alternative to the reductionist worldview that has dominated the modern age and established him as one of the most original and far-reaching thinkers of our time.

Conceived as a tribute to Wolfgang Smith on the occasion of his ninety-fifth birthday, this volume assembles friends, colleagues, students, translators, publishers, and fellow scholars to share personal recollections of the man behind the books-his generosity, humility, faith, intellectual courage, and unwavering devotion to truth. Interwoven with these personal tributes are accessible introductions to the major themes of Smith's work: quantum physics, cosmology, metaphysics, scientism, evolution, Christian wisdom, and the recovery of a meaningful and intelligible universe. Together they provide an ideal gateway into a body of thought that has influenced philosophers, theologians, scientists, artists, and seekers around the world.

More than a memorial, Wolfgang Smith for Everyone bears witness to a living legacy. It introduces a thinker whose work helped lay the foundations for a new conversation between science and wisdom, one whose significance may only now be beginning to emerge. For longtime readers and newcomers alike, this volume offers both a portrait of the man and an entry into a vision of reality that continues to challenge, illuminate, and inspire.
