With Carrington On The Bozeman Road (1912) - Paperback

With Carrington On The Bozeman Road is a historical book written by Joseph Mills Hanson and published in 1912. The book is a first-hand account of the military campaign led by General Henry B. Carrington against the Sioux and Cheyenne tribes in 1866-1868. The campaign was aimed at securing the Bozeman Trail, which was a vital route for settlers and gold miners traveling to Montana. Hanson was a young lieutenant in the 18th Infantry Regiment, which was part of Carrington's force. He provides a detailed and vivid description of the harsh conditions, battles, and skirmishes that took place during the campaign. The book also includes accounts of the interactions between the soldiers and the Native American tribes, as well as the political and strategic considerations that shaped the campaign. With Carrington On The Bozeman Road is a valuable historical document that sheds light on a little-known chapter in American history. It is also a compelling narrative that captures the drama and danger of military life on the frontier. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
