"Who was I? Who did I become? Who am I today? What is my passion with purpose?" These were the questions author Vera Ripp Hirschhorn asked herself during her continued search for identity. Travel along Vera's cathartic journey of growth from childhood-beginning as a six-year-old immigrant-through her challenges, choices, and spiritual awakenings. She progresses from pleasing her family and friends to pleasing and loving, nurturing, and nourishing herself through the arts. Vera comes to understand that her parents' tragic stories of survival, though deeply impactful, are not hers. Her story is one of profound transformation and transition from pain to passion and purpose. Who Am I? is more than a memoir; it is an invitation. Vera empowers, encourages, and enlightens her readers to explore their own stories-their uniqueness, talents, passions, strengths, imperfections, and perfections with guided breathwork and mindfulness exercises. In doing so, these enlightened women will hopefully experience self-love and share the love with others in their personal, social, and professional lives for a higher purpose in life. Write your story! Be vulnerable! Discover and Love Who You Are! Share the Love! "LOVING ME IS LOVING YOU!"

In 1995, Hirschhorn introduced her original Hero Activities to students in Palm Beach County schools with an emphasis on self-respect and respect for diversity and safe environments in schools and community. She originated the Daniel and Judith Ripp "Spirit of Heroes" Award, a multimedia competition to teach tolerance and understanding in memory of her beloved parents, heroic survivors. In 1999, as her response to the Columbine High School tragedies, she created the America's Young Heroes arts programs, curriculum and educational resources for grades 6-university level to promote kindness, prevent bullying and hatred, and help students increase self-esteem while improving character, reading, writing, and problem-solving skills. For this, Vera received congratulatory accolades from former U.S. Congressman Ted Deutch and the 111th and 112th U.S. Congress, which were recorded in the Congressional Records. She won the Florida Publishers Association President's Award for the Best Young Adult Non-Fiction Book.
