Whiskey - Paperback

Some people turn to whiskey to forget the past, but Sommer is depending on Whiskey to survive the present.

ER nurse Sommer Hayes is completely done with high-stakes chaos. After getting badly burned by love, she is finally building the quiet, stable life she craves in her secluded cottage in the woods. But her hard-won sanctuary is shattered when a grieving Bloodhound K9 named Whiskey takes up residence up the street. Frustrated by the dog's relentless howling, Sommer takes to social media to vent - completely unaware that her single viral post is about to bring the FBI straight to her door.

FBI Special Agent Gabriel Atworth is a master geolocator, tracking global threats by mapping the tiniest clues in digital images. But when he inherits his late brother's K9 partner, Whiskey, Gabriel finds himself stranded on a grid he cannot map.

When his dog's antics go viral, threatening a highly classified operation, Gabriel moves to shut the video down. He tracks the digital breadcrumbs to Sommer's door, only to find an empty house. She and her friends are already deep in the rugged Virginia mountains, trapped in a sudden, life-threatening medical emergency.

Far from help in the dense wilderness, Sommer must rely on her intense ER training to keep everyone alive, completely cut off from civilization. With time rapidly running out, Gabriel has no choice but to trust Whiskey's search-and-rescue instincts. Nose to the ground, the loyal K9 leads the way into the mountain terrain as Gabriel launches a desperate race against time to reach Sommer before the crisis turns fatal.

As they fight to bring Sommer's friends home safely, Gabriel faces a threat he never saw coming: a smart, capable woman who might just breach his own fiercely guarded heart.

Whiskey is an action-packed military and law enforcement romantic suspense novel. If you love female solidarity, pulse-pounding danger, and hyper-competent heroes, you will love this high-stakes, slow-burn, closed-door romance featuring a dedicated protector, a resilient heroine, and a loyal K9 partner.
