Stucky, Dixie Benton: - Dixie Benton Stucky (1953-2013) was a rancher's daughter, artist, English teacher, wife of 35 years, mother and grandmother. She lost her battle with early onset Alzheimer's disease in 2013 at age 59.Flake, Lauren: - Lauren Flake lives near Austin, Texas, with her husband, Travis, their two elementary-age daughters, Samantha and Charlotte, and one Labrador Retriever. She enjoys gardening with her girls and raising funds and awareness for her favorite #TexasStrong causes. Lauren wrote this book after losing her mother, Dixie Benton Stucky, to early onset Alzheimer's disease, eventually adding her mom's artwork alongside her own to bring their story to life.
