Having known Tom McDonald all my life, I can tell you that reading his book is like spending time with him. He captures the rural South with wit and feeling in his recollections of country life. It is with personal pleasure and family pride that I place his first book alongside Paths in the Briar Patch and The Old North Field, written by my father and Tom's oldest brother, William L.
