Fickett, Robert M. M.: - Bob Fickett was born in 1953 in Portland, Maine. During his youth he explored many educational opportunities, graduating from Cheverus High School and the University of Southern Maine with a BS in Economics and Accounting. After a spate of character-developing employment opportunities, he eventually settled for 11 different careers during his 37+ years of employment as a civilian in the Department of Navy working for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Human Resources Office. He was recognized nationally for his implementation of automated personnel systems and creation of an automated Reduction In Force (RIF) program employed by many federal agencies. He retired as the Director of Human Resources in 2015 having been awarded the Department of Navy's Meritorious Civilian Service Award.He has been researching the history of the submarine service in the Pacific and his father's contributions since 1996.He is the father of two daughters and has two grandchildren and lives with his wife of 43 years, Vicky Morgan-Fickett, in southern Maine.
