Liveni is a fairly solitary demon, often staying within the walls of Brimstone Court unless her work calls her to retrieve an escaped soul for Death. She just retrieved a human soul from Earth, but when she returns, Death tells her it was the wrong one. What's worse? Death's punishment for her failure is that she has to help him adjust to the afterlife.
There's just one problem: he doesn't believe anything he's seeing is real-including her.
All Jax Ryder knows is that he isn't supposed to be alive. One minute he was escaping prison; the next he's waking up in the cozy bed of the sexiest woman-er, demon-he's ever seen. She told him he's dead-and in Hell-but that's impossible. None of what he's seeing-demons, angels, magic-could possibly be real. She can't be real...can she?
Can she?
Yet after days of satisfying indulgences with each other, they both realize their attractions run deeper than either would like to admit... Despite their mutual desire, his denials and her defenses are pushing them apart, and it's becoming more and more tempting for her to go collect that other soul-and put some distance between them.
Can either of them face their new reality? To admit their love for each other? Read the story of Jax and Liveni as they learn that even love can be Wanted in the Dark.
Shanna C. Robillard is an indie author who spends most of her time at the keyboard writing paranormal romance.
In the beginning, she wrote about vampires, then werewolves and witches, and then humans with Fae 'blessings'. After that, she opened up her world to writing about cryptids and folklore horror, princesses and pirates, and a thrilling chase through time. Her latest endeavor is an interwoven standalone series where demons take the stage (THE BRIMSTONE COURT NOVELS). She has plans for even more books to come, so buckle up and get ready to ride with your new favorite author.
With her New Englander husband and their cuddle-bug of a dog, she lives near Albany.
