On the news that his mother was mortally ill, Afro-Surinamese student Roy (Borger Breeveld) left Amsterdam for home, on a fare purchased by his Dutch girlfriend Karina (Willeke van Ammelrooy). Once there, he faced conflicting desires about his future, particularly after he fell into a frowned-upon affair with Hindu nurse Rubia (Diana Gangaram Panday), in Pim de la Parra's touching and socially charged triangle. 111 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: Dutch and Sarnami Hindustani; Subtitles: English; audio commentary; bonus short "Ahh.. Tamara" (1965); featurettes; image gallery; theatrical trailers. In Dutch and Sarnami Hindustani with English subtitles.
