Nicole Bukaty is a secondary school French and Spanish teacher in Crieff, Scotland. Originally from Krakó w, Poland, she grew up in London and France, and has lived in Colombia, Spain and Russia. She has a BA Joint Honours degree in Philosophy and Hispanic Studies and an MA in Philosophy, both from King's College, London. She obsessively uses up her holidays and weekends to hike mountains or take on long-distance walks, totalling over 7000km so far, predominantly on pilgrim routes. Sanford 'Sandy' Brown is a long-distance walker and ordained minister who lives in Lucca, Italy. He was born in California and his great-grandparents migrated to San Juan Capistrano from Mexico in the 19th century. Inspired by The Pilgrimage by Paulo Coelho, he trekked the Camino de Santiago in 2008 and since then has walked over 15,000km on pilgrim trails in Europe and the U.S.
