Northern Soul 2007 (Digitally Remastered)

A music and dance movement inspired by 1960's era American soul records of the mostly obscure variety, the Northern Soul movement began independently in Northern England, The Midlands, Scotland and Wales by popular DJs discovering rare gems from the era. One of the most prominent DJs was Ian Levine, who spun records at the Highland Rooms at Blackpool Mecca - a large entertainment complex located on Central Drive in the seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire in the North West of England. Presented here is "Northern Soul 2007," a compilation produced by Ian Levine in 2007 featuring new songs done in the Northern soul style, performed by a wide array of artists including some of the original soul vocalists that initially inspired the movement. All selections have been newly remastered.
