Valley of the Kings

The first major Hollywood production to film in Egypt, Valley of the Kings is a grandly scaled and ravishingly scenic adventure about the search for clues across the Sinai terrain offering proof of Biblical events. Set in 1900 and unfolding across landscapes of awesome beauty and breathtaking excavations, rough-hewn archaeologist Mark Brandon (Robert Taylor) and determined explorer Ann Mercedes (Eleanor Parker), striving to complete her late father's earlier discoveries, travel a route of intrigue, danger and romance to reach the lost tomb of Ra-Hotep before a murderous rival. Director/co-writer Robert Pirosh (an Oscar winner for Battleground) puts the stars and movie fans through Indiana Jones-like perils (scored by the masterful Miklos Rozsa) a blinding sandstorm, a menacing veiled swordsman, fisticuffs on the jagged edges of a towering tomb to reach the fabled valley and the long-hidden vaults where answers lie. Carlos Thompson, Kurt Kasznar, Victor Jory and Leon Askin also star in this amazing coat of many colors.
