Aba, take me up to the sky. We will soar across the world to Israel to see your homeland.
So begins a story about a boy who wants nothing more than to fly to Israel, his father's home. In this Jewish children's book, the reader is swept away to the beautiful sites of the Jewish homeland. Readers will travel across Israel as the little boy tells his father where he wants to go and what he wants to do. Join the little boy as he prays at the Kotel (Western Wall), sits by the Jordan River, floats in the Dead Sea, tastes the spices and candies in the Tel Aviv shuk, climbs the hills of Judea, and more.
Each scene was hand painted by the author to portray the dream-like quality of each of these places as the reader is transported across this ancient land.
Read the story in English and then flip it over to read the same story in Hebrew. The two languages meet in the middle at the story's beautiful conclusion: the boy falls asleep in his father's arms as he dreams of all the places he visited.
This book is a wonderful introduction to Israel for young Jewish readers.
