Goutierez, Russell: - Russell Goutierez is a 20-year aviation industry veteran and media contributor whose career spans every level of the airline business. He began as a "ramp rat" at Muse Air, and his time there inspired the novel Unexpected Ruff Air. Russell moved into airport, yield management, and operations roles with American Airlines and eventually led the airline's CARE Team. CARE supports survivors and families following emergencies and accidents, and the program became an industry model. His deep technical background and extensive range of experience provide the authentic foundation for his debut novel and its forthcoming sequels. Among Russell's other credits are Flying magazine's website, the World Airline Historical Society's Captain's Log, and American Airlines' "The Flight Deck" magazine. His photography is featured in Silverbird: The American Airlines Story.
