White, Larisa A.: - Larisa has been teaching for over 30 years: in STEM as a credentialed high school teacher in New York; in physics at Rochester Institute of Technology; and in Engineering & Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. She has designed new curricula, and developed new teaching methods for K-12 and college-level classrooms, increasing interest and achievement levels for gifted and struggling students, alike. She has also taught workshops for high school and university faculty on instructional design and assessment.As an educational consultant, Larisa has evaluated dozens of educational programs at colleges and public schools across the USA, examining the ways in which people learn, grow, and change under the influence of changing educational, cultural, and technological contexts. She has studied the neurobiology of learning. She has investigated the ways in which people interpret and interact with nature. And she has worked one-on-one with struggling students, diagnosing the reasons behind their struggles, and teaching the cognitive, social, and emotional skills needed to excel at school.Larisa currently teaches and writes in the San Francisco Bay Area.
