Discipleship was never designed to transfer information. It was designed to reproduce a life.
The decisive issue in discipleship is not knowledge, proximity, ministry activity, or admiration. It is authority. A wealthy young man came to Jesus with a sincere question, received a direct answer, and walked away sorrowful. A man who had preached in His name for three years sat at the last supper and could not bring himself to say the word Lord. Two different lives, one identical root. Neither would let Jesus be Lord.
True Disciples: Imitate Me traces that single question through thirteen chapters. What a disciple actually is. The submission of the Son Himself. How people receive sent authority, and why apostles are resisted where teachers are celebrated. The twin sins of dishonor and rebellion that destroy more ministries than immorality ever will. And finally, what qualifies a man to carry authority rather than merely submit to it.
Every chapter opens the Word, explains the spiritual reality behind it, and closes with questions for the disciple and a Learn and Do activation. This is not a book about information. It is about formation.
If you are ready to be more than a believer, if you are ready to imitate Him, this book is for you.
