Trailer Chic is a humorous, character-driven novel set in Blue Sky Mobile Home Park in Palm Springs, where Jack Dean has decided that one phrase has outlived its welcome: "trailer trash." His solution is simple, at least at first. Replace it with something better: "Trailer Chic." What begins as a campaign to change the image of mobile home living soon pushes Jack into park politics, an unlikely presidency, and a fight over the land beneath the community itself.

Surrounded by eccentric neighbors, improvised committees, local media attention, and increasingly complicated negotiations, Jack discovers that changing a label means confronting the assumptions behind it. At the same time, his relationship with his wife, Sue, gives the story a deeply human emotional center.
