Mentored by jazz greats Jackie McLean and Illinois Jacquet, and joined by some the best young players in modern jazz (Jeremy Pelt, Steve Davis and Willie Jones III), Tolentino brings his tart, sweet and sour alto sound and sophisticated conception to a wide ranging and engaging program of "out of the way" standards and new compositions.
