Blanchette, Guylaine: - Guylaine Blanchette was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and is first and foremost, a proud mom. She and her husband, Gaetan Prosper, raised two wonderful, positive, and successful children who are now both professional athletes. Their son Olivier-Maxence Prosper (Memphis Grizzlies, NBA) and their daughter Cassandre Prosper (Washington Mystics, WNBA) are the first and only Canadians and Haitian descent siblings to be drafted in the NBA and WNBA.Guylaine is also a former elite level basketball player herself, having played in NCAA and U-Sports, as well as international basketball competitions as a member of the Canadian National team. Her basketball experience and her bachelor's degree in psychology drove her career now spanning more than 25 years in customer experience management and more than 10 years in project management. Her passion was and is still to help facilitate a world with positive and effortless human interactions.Through her busy work schedule, she managed to coach her kids in middle school and high school every chance she had. She always enjoyed giving back her knowledge through coaching in the community while promoting Servant Leadership and Continuous Improvement. She is now an entrepreneur, consultant, philanthropist, and a superfan of her kids, taking every opportunity she can to support and encourage them. Those who know Guylaine would describe her as a candid individual with an ultra-positive mindset. They would also say that she is someone who looks at the glass half full, using her creative mind to always find solutions to help others.Throughout the years, Guylaine and Gaetan were often asked questions by other parents on what they should or shouldn't do. Guylaine, having worn different hats as the elite athlete, the mom, the coach and the supporter, was the obvious go-to for advice. Drawing from her real-life experiences raising her kids in their quest to become elite athletes, Guylaine Blanchette decided to write this book to reach as many parents, coaches and kids as possible with the hope of encouraging parents to play an active role to be positive contributors in their kids' journeys while inspiring the next generation to strive for their goals and dreams just like her kids are doing.
