Pérsida Himmele, PhD, is a professor of language and literacy at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. She is a former elementary and middle school teacher and the co-author of several ASCD books and resources, including the quick reference guide Planning Effective Instruction for ELLs and the bestselling book Total Participation Techniques. She is the author of Tips for Total Participation (QuickWins! Strategy Cards).
Himmele, William: -William Himmele is an associate professor at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. He has served as an ESL teacher and a speech pathologist, a higher education administrator, an international consultant, and a speaker on issues related to increasing student engagement and teaching English language learners. He is the author of Total Participation Techniques and Tips for Total Participation (QuickWins! Strategy Cards).
