Stevens, Mary Beth: - Author, artist, and dog mom, Mary Beth Stevens divides her time between caring for critters and making a mess at her art table. Mary Beth has volunteered for canine rescue and humane societies in the areas of special events, home visits, and fostering, all of which resulted in Tippy joining her family and inspiring her first book, Tippy Finds a Home. Having recently moved from the House in the Woods in the greater Boston area, Mary Beth, her husband Robert, and their family of critters now make their home at the House in the Mountains in Western North Carolina.Spellman, Susan: - Susan Spellman began her art career as a staff illustrator at a film-strip company before becoming an illustrator of children's books and magazines, including Highlights. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount College. Susan is a visiting artist specializing in drawing and watercolor, and she travels extensively to schools and arts organizations throughout New England. While continuing to work in illustration, Susan is increasingly focused on her interest in fine arts. She exhibits her paintings in numerous regional galleries and art organizations throughout the North Shore of Boston. She is a member of the Newburyport Ten Plein Air Painters and the Newburyport Art Association. She has a studio in Newburyport, MA, where she lives with her husband, Jay McGovern.
