Things We Haven't Said: Sexual Violence Survivors Speak Out
This powerful anthology brings together the voices of adults who survived sexual violence as children and adolescents. Through poems, essays, letters, and interviews, contributors share their experiences with courage and authenticity, creating a resource that validates, empowers, and educates.
What This Anthology Offers
The collection features diverse perspectives from survivors who have chosen to break their silence. Each piece contributes to a larger conversation about sexual violence, recovery, and resilience. The anthology serves multiple audiences: survivors seeking connection and validation, teens navigating their own experiences, educators looking for resources, and advocates working to upend stigma surrounding sexual violence.
The varied formats—poetry, personal essays, letters, and interviews—allow contributors to express their stories in ways that feel authentic to their experiences. This diversity of voices and forms makes the anthology accessible to different readers and learning styles.
A Resource for Teens and Educators
While the contributors are adults reflecting on childhood and adolescent experiences, this anthology is particularly valuable for teen readers. It provides language and framework for understanding sexual violence, validates complex feelings survivors may experience, and demonstrates that healing is possible. Educators, counselors, and advocates will find this collection useful for discussions about consent, trauma, recovery, and survivor support.
Creating a Better Future
By speaking out, the contributors in this anthology work to create change. Their stories challenge stigma, educate communities, and provide hope for others on their healing journeys. This collection demonstrates the power of survivor voices in shaping conversations about sexual violence prevention and response.
