Maguire, Robin: - Robin Maguire was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Maguire graduated from UCLA, briefly escaped to Manhattan, but returned to L.A. to study painting at Otis College of Art and Design. Fine art was the goal but the advent of marriage, four kids and divorce required a day job. Maguire helmed a successful stationery business, wrote a monthly feature for a national magazine and eventually worked in commercial real estate development. A foray into on-camera Martha Stewart-esque content brought her to the theater and her lifelong side hustle-writing. Maguire's award-winning play, "Aquarium," was described by Michael Silverblatt of KCRW's Bookworm as, "A hand grenadelobbed into the lap of 'post-moral' America. If I had to, I'd say it's in a genre of its own-a comedy of spiritual menace." The allure of the novel (no actors, no rehearsals, fewer tears) eventually won favor. She published her first novel, "47men" (Acanto) in 2015. She has written several novel manuscripts: "Lemonade," "Meat," and a story collection, "Libertà." Maguire lives in Los Angeles with her husband.
