A beloved community college professor, Paige Huskey adored working with her students. But outside the classroom, she had a dark secret that was controlling her life, a secret that would eventually kill her if she didn't get help.
What had started as a friendly game of poker in 2009 led Paige down what she describes as "a dark, twisting, lard-greased tunnel slide with nowhere else to go but down." As her addiction grew and her world outside the casino crumbled, everyone around her was leaving: her husband, her grown children, her father, a close friend, one boyfriend after another, and even her therapist.
In this raw, candid account, follow along as Paige tries to find the courage and strength to fight back against "the ultimate scam" before it is too late. In a reality where gambling addicts are fifteen times more likely to die by suicide, the clock is ticking, and the stakes couldn't be higher.
