...Because Ideas Have Consequences. Since its founding 20 years ago, The Texas Pilgrim simply has been a monthly personal letter of commentary with an objective to engage readers in a dialogue on the critical issues of our time and the ideas that drive public policy and culture in America. Neither a newsletter nor an electoral polemic, it has been a wide-ranging perspective on public policy, political philosophy, books, social issues, and American cultural issues consistent with the theme advanced by Richard Weaver that "ideas have consequences." Now, as it reaches the milestone of its 20th year, the time has come to take stock of this project. This volume does so with a collection from among almost 1,000 essays and book reviews published in more than 200 monthly issues.
