A lonely cat lives at Happy Lake campground. The weather has gotten cold, and the campground is empty. The poor cat is lonely, hungry, and getting scared. When a couple comes to stay at one of the cabins, the cat is so happy! The woman even sets food out for her. But the couple also has a scary dog, and the cat isn't so sure she should come out of hiding.
Will she find her happy ending? Or are there too many things standing between her and her forever home?
The Story of Cheese is based on the true story of Cheese the library cat. People who come into her library often ask about her history; this book shares her story for the first time. With delightful prose and beautiful images, it's perfect for young readers ready to learn about the joys of animal adoption and the simple acts of kindness that can transform a life.
