Doing so, she discovered a passion for illustration and conceptual art. She works as a freelancer for various magazines and publishers. Reid loves writing the Emma Every Day series, which she started in 2019. Deaf-blind since childhood, Christy received a Cochlear Implant (CI) as an adult to help her hear and uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate. She and her husband have three sons, who are all adults now. Christy, her husband, their middle son (who is also deaf-blind), and Ally, their cattle dog, recently moved to New York.
