The Severed Hand - Paperback

What was meant to be a quiet fishing trip in the peaceful waters of Washington's Puget Sound, becomes a nightmare Justin Lawlord will never forget.

The Chicago Police Chief, burned out and desperate for a break, casts his line into the misty morning calm-only to retrieve a diabolical catch from the water's depths. His long-awaited vacation suddenly turns into an increasingly complex criminal investigation. Forced back into detective mode, Lawlord teams up with the County Sheriff's Office to trace the perpetrator of the gruesome discovery. What begins as a local mystery soon leads the investigators down a path far darker-a string of killings tied to a past steeped in pain and revenge. As the bodies begin to surface, Lawlord and his team must outthink a killer who seems to be watching their every move.

In a place where secrets run deep, justice may come at a deadly cost.
