Two eligible bachelors, two elegant ladies. A meeting on a bridge. Is romance in the air or is disappointment written in the stars?
Juliana, Dowager Countess of Courtney, and her protégé, Margaret Dashwood, take a stroll on Medway Bridge in Rochester, where they make the acquaintance of two visiting gentlemen. One is Spenser, Viscount Kintleford and the other, his cousin, Ralph Hodgson. Will the handsome viscount in her heart or will she give Jacob Townsend, who has pined for her over the years, get a second chance?
* * *Ralph Hodgson was attracted Margaret Dashwood but his rakish habits dismayed her. When Ralph is set upon by footpads in London, he's taken to convalesce at his cousin's house, Brayton Court where Margaret and Juliana are guests. As she helps nurse him, Margaret finds her old attraction reviving. Will Ralph be willing to mend his ways? Can Margaret forgive his past? A timely intervention may change everything.
