In this book, Banda examines the issues of employment creation in Malawi from various perspectives, including those of policymakers, those who execute policies, and those who benefit from them. He bemoans how, among other things, inadequate educational infrastructure, a lack of role models, and an unequal distribution of economic resources cause rural children to lose hope in their ability to obtain meaningful work. He also supports technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial education and training programs that might help rural youngsters transition to self-employment.
