The Pictorial History of Fort Casey - Paperback

Guarding the entrance to the Puget Sound are a number of abandoned coast artillery fortifications. Like silent sentinels, these concrete gun emplacements were positioned to defend the only deep water navigable approaches to Seattle, Tacoma, Bremerton, and other points in the great natural expanse that is Puget Sound. They were a key part of a defense system designed to prevent a hostile fleet from reaching the Bremerton Navy Yard and the heart of the Pacific Northwest. One of these coast artillery fortifications is Fort Casey.
