Du Bois, W. E. B.: - W. E. B. Du Bois (1868-1963) was an American historian, sociologist, writer, and civil rights leader. One of the most influential intellectuals of the twentieth century, Du Bois was a co-founder of the NAACP and a pioneering scholar of African American history and sociology.
