Richard Willey's historical crime novel, The Man on the Dancing Sticks, plunges readers into the dark underbelly of late 18th-century France, beginning with a scene of profound horror and escalating into a complex investigation that blurs the lines between crime, ritual, and the supernatural. The narrative skillfully weaves together elements of crime investigation with elements of the supernatural and the occult. The inclusion of French terms and cultural nuances adds to the authenticity of the period setting, providing the reader with a unique, entertaining read in the first book of the crime trilogy.

Willey, Richard: - Richard Willey has been writing mystery novels for adults and middle-graders for over ten years. The inspirations for his Berteaux and Laroche mystery series come from his fascination with history and actual cases that he was involved in or familiar with as a lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Now retired, Willey lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, with his wife Linda. In addition to being a writer, Richard is an avid sportsman, traveler, and maniacal fisherman. He also holds a master's degree in communication from Pepperdine University.
