The Long Road to Surrender - Paperback

After twenty-three years in a thriving medical practice, Jeff Whelchel walked

away from the only career he had ever known. He should have left long before.

But stepping away meant giving up control, and that was the one thing he was

not willing to do, not even for God.

The Long Road to Surrender is the story of a Texas Panhandle doctor shaped

by a family of characters as large as the sky, driven by a need to prove his worth,

and slowly crushed by the weight of a calling he could no longer carry. It is a

story of burnout that very nearly ended him. Of a marriage that held firrm. Of

a man who had to be broken before he could be rebuilt.

And of the God who would not stop pursuing him until he finally stopped

running.
