The evidence consists of many different types and genres, taking account of the range of languages spoken and written in England and the Low Countries. Contributors move beyond source study to consider other ways in which speakers of Dutch and English took notice of each other in their writing. Elisabeth van Houts is Emeritus Honorary Professor of European Medieval History at the University of Cambridge and a Life Fellow of Emmanuel College. She has written widely on medieval Anglo-Continental European history, gender and memory, and medieval women.
Ad Putter is a Fellow of the British Academy and Professor of Medieval English at the University of Bristol, where he is the Co-Director of the Centre for Medieval Studies.Sjoerd Levelt is Honorary Senior Research Associate of the English Department at the University of Bristol. Moreed Arbabzadah is currently a Research Associate at the University of Oxford.
