A Powerful Story of Intersecting Destinies that Collide in a Twist of Fate

Bold, revealing and emotionally layered, The Lightness of Rain is a compelling tale of love, sex, forgiveness, past decisions and future possibilities. It is a passionate, haunting novel that captures both the searing pain of loss and the transcending power of hope.

In the sprawling, sun-soaked expanse of Los Angeles, the lives of three strangers run parallel yet strikingly different courses, until an unexpected turn of events connects their paths.

Alison Bishop, an English teacher and an aspiring poet, finds herself yearning for a long-lost love and is haunted by a secret that has shadowed her life for years.

Wanda Williams, eight months pregnant, has fled her abusive husband after a reckless act of survival. With nothing but hope and desperation, she navigates the streets of L.A., seeking refuge and praying that her past won't catch up with her.

Trisha O'Connor, who left her home in Canada to chase her dream of becoming an actor, juggles the demands of working as a nurse with her aspirations of stardom. She embraces her passion for the stage while nurturing a budding romance with a woman who longs to fulfill very different goals of her own.

As these lives become entwined, the women discover that the choices they make and the chances they take will shape their destinies in extraordinary and unexpected ways.
