In his discourse, Gregory of Nyssa examines the profound mystery of human creation in the image of God. He likens understanding this divine image to looking into a pure mirror, where one perceives not just physical resemblance but also deeper spiritual truths. Nyssa discusses the dual nature of humanity, composed of an immortal soul and a material body, and contrasts human creation with that of angels. He suggests that humanity reflects the Trinity and that Adam, Eve, and their descendants embody different aspects of divine nature, hinting at a deeper theological significance in their creation.
