In 1942, an SS doctor working under Reinhard Heydrich completes a weapon that Himmler had ordered built, and Hitler had refused to field. Before Heydrich is assassinated, the research is sealed - the key to its location hidden where no Allied hand will find it.
It stays hidden for seventy-seven years.
Berlin, December 2019. Detective Lea Weiss works a cemetery homicide that connects to a freshly opened grave - the wrong grave, the wrong dead man, the wrong kind of trouble. An Israeli intelligence officer arrives before her own commanders. A courier is dead. A tube is missing. And the SS program called Eisenherz - Iron Heart - has surfaced in the kind of hands that make governments nervous.
The history was never settled. It was only postponed.
Moving between wartime Berlin and the modern investigation, The Heydrich Cipher is a thriller about the bureaucracy of genocide, the evidence it leaves behind, and the living who find themselves trapped inside it.
Steven Infanti is the author of The Debt of Moytura series, The Blood & Gold Saga - a mythic retelling of the Siegfried legend - Bob the Caretaker, The Regulars, Devils Around the Clock, Shadow of Blood, and What Fear Owes. His work blends history, myth, and emotional precision, returning ancient stories to the weight and complexity they were always meant to carry.
