On Virgil's first day as a pledge the group is attacked by a pack of demons. Feelings of rage build inside Virgil, he yells out the name of his Chaos Devil Arms, Soul Reaver. Soul Reaver materializes as a scythe covered in black flames. Virgil discovers he is the second Nephilim to bear Soul Reaver. It was once wielded by the first Death Dealer, a cruel and heartless warrior who was also the son of Lucifer, the Commander of the Fallen Angels.
