Jewish Holiday Book for Children: The Garden of Time

"With beautiful images and words, The Garden of Time offers a magical path through the seasons and allows the sacred breath of life to blow through all our souls. Take a walk in the garden; be refreshed and renewed." --Sandy Eisenberg Sasso, author of The Shema in the Mezuzah: Listening to Each Other

A Journey Through Jewish Holidays and Seasons

Based on ancient Jewish legend, this illustrated children's book follows Adam and Eve as they walk through the Garden of Eden, discovering the rhythms of nature that will become the foundation of the Jewish calendar. Through their observations of what they see, smell, hear, and taste, they determine which holidays to celebrate throughout the year.

Educational Resource for Jewish Families and Classrooms

This hardcover picture book serves as both an engaging story and an educational guide to Jewish traditions. The narrative connects environmental awareness with spiritual practice, making it an ideal resource for teaching children about the Jewish calendar and the significance of seasonal celebrations. Includes comprehensive guides to Jewish holidays and ancient iconography, providing context for both children and adults.

Beautiful Illustrations and Meaningful Text

The combination of Jill Hammer's lyrical storytelling and Zoë Cohen's visual artistry creates an immersive reading experience. The artwork illuminates Judaism's connection to nature and time, making complex spiritual concepts accessible to young readers ages 4-12.

Perfect for Family Reading and Gift Giving

Whether you're looking for a meaningful holiday gift, a bedtime story that teaches Jewish values, or a classroom resource for religious education, The Garden of Time offers families and educators a unique approach to understanding Jewish traditions through the lens of creation and seasonal change.
