A legendary smith, Völund, is sent to claim Brísingamen for Freya, but the necklace rests in the guarded forge of Dvalin, a ruthless dark-elf master who sets her own price: four nights of work side-by-side, each ending in a truth neither can take back. As sparks fly and steel sings, rivalry tempers into desire, and the choice to surrender the god-jewel becomes tangled with a far riskier surrender of pride and heart. When dawn comes, Dvalin must decide whether the necklace and Völund leave her forge as enemies, partners, or something far more dangerous.
