Major, Richard: - Dr. Richard Major is a novelist and journalist with degrees in history, literature and theology. He has many books in print. Born in the South Seas, he came to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. At Oxford he earned his DPhil in English literature from Magdalen College, and since then has dedicated his life to international education, tutoring and lecturing at universities in America, as well as England, Italy, Australia, Slovenia, India and Hungary. Richard has also served as a consular officer in U.S. embassies, facilitating visas for students across the globe, and aiding the practicalities of expatriate life. Richard is married to Kris, an American diplomat from Seattle. Their two grown children have been educated around the world; the elder is at present studying architecture in Berlin. Kris and Richard divide their time between East Africa and a house on the banks of the Thames.
