The First Book of Urizen - Hardcover

The First Book of Urizen is a poetic and mythological work by the English poet and artist William Blake. Published in 1794, it is part of a series of illuminated books that Blake created, each featuring his own unique blend of poetry, mythology, and art. The book tells the story of the creation of the universe and the rise of Urizen, a god-like figure who represents reason and rationality. Through a series of vivid and often surreal images, Blake explores themes of creation, destruction, and the struggle between order and chaos. The First Book of Urizen is considered one of Blake's most complex and challenging works, and has been the subject of much critical analysis and interpretation. Its influence can be seen in a wide range of artistic and literary movements, from Romanticism to Surrealism to modernist poetry.
