The Exit Route - Paperback

Wesley Knox has spent fifteen years proving his worth on a football field. At thirty-eight, he is still dangerous, still respected, and still valuable enough for his franchise to offer one more season wrapped in loyalty, money, and legacy. But after a brutal hit exposes symptoms he has been minimizing, his longtime agent, Talia Darden, refuses to let pride, headlines, or a beautiful contract bury the truth.

Talia built Exit Route Sports Agency to protect athletes from becoming products after their bodies start telling the truth. Wes was one of her first clients, one of the men who helped build her career, and the one man she cannot treat like ordinary business anymore. Their trust runs deep. Their attraction runs deeper. But with medical risk, contract pressure, rival agents, media leaks, and a public hungry for a comeback, desire becomes one more pressure that must be named before it can do damage.

As doctors draw hard lines, the team tries to move them. A rival agent sells Wes the feeling of being powerful again. Retired players tell him the truth about life after the game. Talia and Wes are forced to build protocols around the one thing neither of them can fully control: what they feel.

When Wes earns one final clean game, he must decide whether one more season is courage or just fear wearing a helmet. The Exit Route is an adult sports romance about ambition, injury, agency, restraint, and the choice to leave before the game takes the choice away.
