The Evolution of the Gospel in the Bible - Hardcover

The Bible is one of the most important anthologies of world literature, and is the source for three major world religions--Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Many of its authors claimed to speak on behalf of God, others did not. The ancient rabbis who collected the writings of the Hebrew Bible and the Christian bishops who collected the gospels and letters claimed those documents are the divinely inspired Word of God. But is the Bible divinely inspired and inerrant? Who wrote those books? When and why were they written? Does the Bible have a cohesive message, or does it contain many messages, even some that contradict each other? The Evolution of the Gospel in the Bible answers these questions. Lou shows how the covenant promise of God changed over a span of 1,000 years as the fears, hopes, and dreams of both Jews and Gentiles evolved with each generation.
