The Chronicles of the First Nunes - Paperback

The Chronicles of the First Nunes

From the dust of Jericho's fallen walls to the misty shores of a raw New World, the story of the Nunes name is one of grit, faith, and the long hand of destiny.

For over three thousand years, a single name has acted as a silent witness to the turning points of history. In this sweeping historical epic, Richard M. Eunice traces the indelible spirit of the "Son of Nun"-beginning with Joshua, the desert-hardened commander who led a nation across the Jordan to claim a promised future.

But the conquest of Canaan was only the beginning.

As the centuries grind forward, the lineage of Joshua flows through the veins of kings and shepherds alike, surviving the rise and fall of empires, the Babylonian exile, and the scattering of the Sephardic people. By the 18th century, the legacy faces its greatest trial yet: the shadow of the Portuguese Inquisition.

Enter Dr. Samuel Nunes, a brilliant physician in the court of Lisbon who carries the ancient weight of his ancestors in secret. Living a double life under the watchful eye of the Holy Office, Samuel must engineer one of the most daring escapes in history. With nothing but a hidden Torah and the iron determination of his namesake, he leads a small band of refugees across the treacherous Atlantic toward the untested colony of Georgia.
