Micah Giorgio lives a relatively mundane life studying to be a pharmacy tech and handling things for his dying grandfather. When he takes a break, he becomes Tuxedo Starlight in the same game.

However, their relaxing video game has become entwined with reality. Both are now Seam Splitters, part of an elite group of warriors able to transcend reality through Seam Splits leading to other realms of existence. While the world cheers Micah on as their favorite, happy-go-lucky splitter, he has no clue about Elina's secret arrangement as a fellow commander in their ranks.
