J. R. ENGELS is one of the "good old boys." He's lived in the Pacific Northwest for over thirty years, but hasn't lost that patina of sophistication and style he picked up in Southern California, no matter how hard he tries. Many of his adventures include encounters with wildlife like Sasquatch, Vampires, gay cows, Roosevelt elk, and King Salmon. He loves to laugh and his adventures have taken him to the New Dungeness Lighthouse, the Ho Rain Forest, and Forks, Washington. He is a bit challenged when it comes to hunting and fishing, but willing to try anything, no matter how clumsily he stumbles through the experience. Don't miss his exciting adventures As J.R. would say, "Tell all your friends."

JIM FISHER is a semi-retiring English professor from Peninsula College-sometimes prose writer and sometimes poet, who lives on the Olympic Peninsula, in Sequim, Washington, and at nearby Lake Sutherland. Like his persona and narrator, J.R. Engels, Jim is a transplanted Californian who has taken root and bloomed in the Pacific Northwest. In his former life, Jim had a 25-year business career with Procter and Gamble in Long Beach. A plant closure allowed him to return to graduate school at CSULB and USC for another degree or two, followed by a 20-year teaching career. Jim is now retired from full-time teaching, so he has more time to write. Jim and his wife, Ann Elizabeth, love to travel and have spent a quarter in China, where Jim was the exchange professor from Peninsula to the Guilin University of Electronic Technology. Now teaching just one online class a quarter, Jim has taught in Egypt, Cape Town, Amsterdam, London, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, and the entire Mediterranean from Barcelona to Istanbul. The Adventures of J.R. Engels is the product of 20 years of J.R. stories, now assembled into Jim's first novel and published for your reading enjoyment by Event Horizon Press.
