Three teenage friends living on a tropical island have an ideal life. They belong to a people that are kind and generous and take living in harmony with nature very seriously. Ultimately the peace and tranquility of the beautiful island are interrupted by an invasion of warlike people. Ami who is the lone female character in the trio, must learn to go from an introverted lovesick teen to a vigilante warrior. Akai travels to learn the ways of wizardry but soon finds the ways of wizardry to be difficult. Teo is the one who makes all of this possible with his gift.

Along the way they have to deal with some of the same problems people today must bear, such as substance abuse and PTSD.

The centering theme of the entire trilogy is martial arts philosophies. Aiki Philosophy or more commonly called being in harmony with nature, is prevalent, as well as Ki (Chi) breathing and meditation. There are other elements of eastern philosophy including much of the philosophies espoused by Bruce Lee in the cult classic "The Circle of Iron", which he cowrote.

This book pays homage to "The Circle of Iron" with a spell that shares the same name. The reader may find that the books pay homage to a number of classic rock and roll music and to other cultural phenomena such as the homage paid to Frankenstein the movie with a horde of storming peasants in the castle Bethos.
