Aki Takase and Daniel Erdmann collaborate on this Ellington themed recording. Each song opens up a different approach and develops it's own color. Swinging happiness stands next to ballad-like passion and romantic melancholy, impressionistic lightness next to dense clouds of sound. Ellington becomes the common point of reference, it's about his spirit, which inspired Mingus to write a piece that could be the title for this recording: "Duke Ellington's Sound of Love".
